Coverage: 15 September 1996 to 26 June 1997, 16 regions around the world

Abstract: The NASA scatterometer (NSCAT) provided normalized radar cross section (sigma0) measurements of the Earth's surface. While originally designed for wind observation, scatterometer sigma0 measurements have proven useful in a variety of land and ice studies. To aid in the application of these measurements, Brigham Young University prepared this dataset consisting of enhanced resolution images generated from NSCAT sigma0 measurements.

This data set consists of enhanced resolution images generated from NSCAT sigma0 measurements

Data Set Volume: 72 GBytes uncompressed, 35.5 GBytes compressed

Smallest order: Via DLT, the entire data set. Via FTP, any single file.

Standard Product: Complete data set on DLT

Data Format: SIR

Media Format: These data are available via FTP at ftp://ftp.scp.byu.edu/data/nscat and on DLT tape, where the data have been gzipped then (linux) tarred.
